The Billerica Scholarship Foundation is a local volunteer
organization
established in 1988. It is managed by a Board of Directors made up of
community leaders, school personnel, parents and business people. The
foundation is an affiliate of the Scholarship America (Dollars
for Scholars).
The Foundation has 501(c)(3) tax exempt status. Students receiving
foundation awards are eligible for a program offering matching grants
in hundreds of colleges and universities.
The purpose of the foundation is to raise funds to provide scholarships for students who reside within the Billerica Town limits regardless of which schools they attended. The committee selects the recipients each year based on a blind application process.
